We started in 1947 as a small family-run company in the United States. Our goals in those days were pretty simple – to create quality products, to grow and to become an innovative leader in lip care.
So that’s what we did.
Our heritage medicated lip balm in pots were soon a hit. In the 1950s, we evolved, developing lip balm sticks with new benefits such as flavours (because who said lip care had to be boring?) and sunscreens for daily protection.
By 1967, it was time to grow further. We created both our own research and development facilities and a manufacturing and corporate headquarters complex in Oak Brook, Illinois. It meant we were in control of every phase of our business – from product formulation and testing to manufacturing and marketing.
But while there have been a lot of changes over the years, what’s never changed is our commitment to our original goals. We’ve been able to innovate, add new products to the Blistex product line and improve our existing products – all to serve our customers better. We strike the right balance of health and care to provide just the right solutions for any lip need. And that’s seen us grow into a global leader in lip care and lip health, sold in over 80 countries worldwide.
And now the Blistex tradition is carried on by the third generation of our founding family.
